Palvelemme Nokian insinöörejä antamalla neuvoa oikeudellisissa ja työttömyysturvaan liittyvissä kysymyksissä. Lisäksi tuemme kouluttamalla uuden työpaikan hankintaa.

Oikeudellinen neuvonta
Työsuhteet päätetään usein päättösopimuksin. Neuvomme sinua millainen on kohtuullinen korvaus työsopimuksen päättämisestä ja kerromme mitä etuuksia menetät jos teet päättösopimuksen. Tarkistamme että sopimuksesi kilpailukielto- ja salassapitopykälät ovat kohtuullisia. Riitautamme perusteiltaan epäselvät irtisanomiset puolestasi jos olet liiton jäsen.

Neuvonta työttömyysturva-asioissa
Selvitämme puolestasi myös  työttömyysturvaan liittyvät kysymykset. Samalla yhteydenotolla saat apua sekä työsuhde- että työttömyysturva-asioissa eikä sinun tarvitse kysyä neuvoa erikseen kassasta.

UIL auttaa uudelle uralle
Oulussa toimii Uranoste- ja Tampereella PIOTTY-hanke, jotka auttavat insinöörejä ja muita ylempiä toimihenkilöitä työllistymään. Hankkeet järjestävät lyhyitä ja hieman pidempiä koulutuksia työnhakemiseen ja uuden uran luomiseen liittyen. Koulutukset ovat osallistujille maksuttomia ja niihin voi osallistua, vaikka et työttömänä työnhakijana olisikaan. Molemmissa hankkeissa Uusi Insinööriliitto on vahvasti mukana. Kevään aikana UIL ja muut hankkeissa olevat akavalaiset yksityissektorin ammattijärjestöt hakevat rahoitusta vastaaville hankkeille myös pääkaupunkiseudulle ja Saloon.

Insinööripörssissä on jatkuvasti tieto kymmenistä auki olevista insinöörityöpaikoista. Insinööripörssin uudet urapolut näet kirjautumalla jäsensivuille.

CV-klinikka päivittää ansioluettelosi
Työnhaun tärkein asiakirja ansioluettelo on syytä pitää ajan tasalla. Toukokuun aikana UIL järjestää koulutuksia, joissa CV:si laitetaan kuntoon. Osa koulutuksista pidetään Oulussa ja Tampereella toimivien työllistämisprojektien kautta. Lisätiedot ja tarkat aikataulut myöhemmin näillä sivuilla.

Työpaikkatilaisuudet
Kierrämme maaliskuun alussa Nokian toimipisteissä keskustelemassa tilanteesta kanssanne ja esittelemässä Nokialaiset -projektin. Tilaisuuksien pääpuhujana on UIL:n puheenjohtaja Pertti Porokari. Järjestämme toukokuussa inffoja, joissa voit keskustella liiton asiamiesten kanssa työllistymiseen ja liiton palveluihin liittyvistä asioista. Lisäksi valmistaudumme pitämään työttömyysturvaa- ja YT-neuvotteluja koskevia tiedotustilaisuuksia jos ne tulevat ajankohtaisiksi.

Yleisesti liittoon kannattaa kuulua seuraavista syistä

- Toimenvälityksessämme on yhdessä paikassa tarjolla suuri määrä insinööreille sopivia työpaikkoja.
- Palkkatutkimuksen avulla hinnoittelet itsesi oikealle tasolle työhakemuksissa. Voit myös tarkistaa onko oman palkkatasosi kohdallaan.
- Tilastokeskuksen palkkarakennetilaston (v2008) mukaan järjestäytyneellä on 5% järjestäytymätöntä parempi palkka.
- Työsuhdeneuvonta auttaa sinua työsopimusta tehtäessä, uran aikana vastuiden muuttuessa ja ongelmatilanteissa.
- Koulutuksista saat hyödyllistä tietoa työuraasi varten (aiheita: uraneuvontaa uusille insinööreille, työsuhteeseen liittyvien sopimusten ongelmakohdat, esimiestyön juridiikkaa).
- Tuet luottamusmiestoiminta, jolloin luottamusmies auttaa tulkitsemaan työsuhteen ehtoja työpaikalla.
- Työehtosopimukset

1. TES-korotusten vaikutus teknologiateollisuudessa on paikallisista sopimuksista riippuen noin 27-30% 10 vuodessa. Samaan aikaan    insinöörien palkkataso on noussut 32% eli TES-korotukset merkittävin insinöörikunnan palkkaan vaikuttava asia.

We serve Nokia engineers by providing advice on legal issues and questions of unemployment benefit. We also support you with jobseeker training.

Legal advice
Employment often ends by agreements (voluntary severance package). We will advise you on reasonable compensation for terminating employment, and explain the benefits that you could forfeit by signing an agreement. We review the reasonableness of non-competition and confidentiality clauses in your agreement, and we also contest legally questionable dismissals of union members.

Advice on unemployment benefit
We also look into issues of unemployment benefit on your behalf. This means you can get help in both employment-related and benefit questions from the same window, and there is no need to approach the unemployment fund for special advice.

UIL helps you re-launch your career
The Uranoste project in Oulu and PIOTTY project in Tampere helps engineers and other senior salaried employees to find work. These projects provide short and slightly longer courses in jobseeking and career reorientation. The courses are free of charge, and participants do not have to be enrolled as unemployed jobseekers. The Union of Professional Engineers in Finland – UIL -  is heavily involved in both of these projects. Further details are available on the project websites:

UIL and the other private sector professionals’ unions involved in these projects will be seeking funding for corresponding projects in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and the Salo region during the spring.

Update your CV at the CV clinic
Your CV is the most important document in your jobseeking efforts, and you should keep it up to date. UIL will be arranging special training in May on how to get your CV in order. Some of these courses will be a part of re-employment projects operating in Oulu and Tampere. Further details and course schedules will appear on this website at a later date.

Workplace events
Early in March we shall be touring Nokia establishments to discuss the current situation with you, and to share details of the project for Nokia staff. The principal speaker at these events will be UIL President Pertti Porokari. In May we shall be arranging information sessions where you will have an opportunity to discuss re-employment and UIL services with union officials. We are also preparing to hold further sessions on unemployment benefit and co-operation negotiations if these become questions of current concern.

Good reasons for union membership
- Our job exchange is a centralised resource providing details of a large number of jobs for engineers.
- Our salary studies help you to negotiate the right salary rates when seeking work. You can also see how your current salary level matches up to industry norms.
- A 2008 wage structure survey by Statistics Finland indicated that the salaries of union members were 5 per cent higher than those of unorganised employees.
- Employment counselling will help you before signing your employment contract, when responsibilities change during your career, and when problems arise.
- Union training events provide valuable career information (topics include career counselling for new engineers, typical problem areas in employment-related agreements, and the legal aspects of working as a supervisor).
- A local union representative helps to interpret the agreed terms and conditions of employment at the workplace.
- Collective agreements:
       1. Depending on local agreements, the ten-year impact of collectively negotiated salary increases in the technology industries has been about 27-30 per
       cent. The salaries of engineers have risen by 32 per cent over the same period, meaning that collective bargaining is the most important factor influencing
       the salary level of the engineering profession in Finland.
       2. Securing the status of local union representatives.
       3. Ensuring the payment of holiday bonus.
       4. Providing paid family leave and time off to care for a sick child, and
       5. Several other non-statutory benefits.
- Bützow legal advisory services are available by telephone for civil transactions (estate inventories, prenuptial agreements, etc.). A corresponding service from a commercial law firm would otherwise typically cost about 100 euros per hour.
- Excellent holiday travel and accident insurance packages and generous discounts on other forms of insurance are available to union members.
- Union benefits only cost an average of about 70 cents per day after claiming the associated tax deduction.
